This 7-story, 325,000 sf addition and 30,000 sf of renovation added 334 beds to the facility. The addition houses relocated acute care and ICU nursing units, the surgical suite, and emergency departments. The ABKJ design utilized a structural steel special moment-resisting frame (SMRF) system, the first of its kind in OSHPD history. This project was named the Most Beautiful Hospital in America by Soliant.com.
