Anacortes Ferry Terminal, Anacortes, Washington

This reconstruction project was designed to support the growth in ridership forecasted for a terminal that serves five Washington State Ferries routes. It includes a new terminal building and replacing the overhead loading system for this gateway to Washington State, the San Juan Islands, and Canada. The project is currently on hold.

Anderson Island Ferry Terminal, Anderson Island, Washington

ABKJ provided prime design work, including plans, specifications, estimates, and construction management, for replacing the vehicle transfer bridge and approach span. Key design elements included a prestressed box girder transfer span that was cast in an offsite marine fabrication yard and barged to the site.

Burlington Northern Train Depot, Kelso, Washington

ABKJ was the prime consultant for concept development and final PS&E for rehabilitating this 1911 train depot into a full-scale multimodal transportation facility. The station is owned by the City of Kelso and also serves as the area’s Greyhound bus terminal.

ABKJ provided structural design services for the Westlake Station and assisted in the preliminary design of all other subway stations. ABKJ also designed the underpinning and shoring protection methods for the 1.8-mile transit sys¬tem through Seattle’s Central Business District.

This project transformed the existing facility to improve the speed and reliability of bus service. It includes new waiting areas, passenger shelters, and enhanced pedestrian crossings.

SeaTac Airport Central Terminal Expansion, SeaTac, Washington

This 200,000 sf, 4-story addition houses the Pacific Marketplace retail center and includes one of the largest cable-net walls in the world.
