Alaska Native Heritage Center, Anchorage, Alaska
This 26,000 sf museum is located on a 26-acre parcel in Northeast Anchorage. It includes exhibit and demonstration areas, a theater, cafe, gift shop, a large open circular hall for gatherings and performances, and a rural travel information kiosk.
Chihuly Bridge of Glass Museum Bridge, Tacoma, Washington
ABKJ provided design services for the 475’ pedestrian bridge that links the glass museum’s rooftop plaza with the Washington State History Museum. The bridge takes pedestrians through a corridor of brilliant light and color created by world-renowned glass artist Dale Chihuly.
Pacific Science Center, Seattle, Washington
ABKJ designed the structural remodel for Building 3, located at the southern edge of the site along Denny Way. The work included opening the existing walls and floors to increase the natural lighting of the exhibit spaces and an additional pad in the reflecting pools.
University of Washington Henry Art Gallery, Seattle, Washington
This major renovation project expanded the museum from 10,000 sf to more than 40,000 sf and includes a 154-seat auditorium, multimedia gallery, café, bookstore, sculpture court, and improved facilities for art handling, storage, and collections research.
Petersen Automotive Museum, Los Angeles, California
ABKJ designed the upgrade to this world-famous museum dedicated to the historical preservation of the automobile. Encompassing more than 300,000 sf, it showcases more than 150 rare and classic cars, trucks, and motorcycles.
