Harborview Research and Training Facility, Seattle, Washington

This 10-story, 180,000 sf concrete-framed research facility includes 8 levels of above-grade laboratory space and 2 levels of below-grade space for holding and testing areas. The ABKJ design included shoring to 50' depths with conventional soldier piles and underpinning along the west wall.

This 100,000 sf, cast-in-place concrete facility includes five levels of above-grade space and one level of below-grade space to house multiple laboratory spaces. Seismic-resisting forces are provided by cast-in-place shear walls located around the perimeter of the building.
