Federal Detention Center, SeaTac, Washington
This 10-story, 365,000 sf detention facility consists of three triangular towers rising from a circular base. Administrative areas, core services, and entrances are located on the bottom four floors, while inmate housing is located on the top six floors.
Coffee Creek Women’s Prison, Wilsonville, Oregon
ABKJ provided structural design development for a minimum security women’s prison, a medium/maximum security women’s prison, and an intake center. These prisons replaced the existing women’s prison in Salem and the female offender beds at the Columbia River Correctional Institution in Portland.
Cook Inlet Detention Center, Anchorage, Alaska
This 82,000 sf building includes a 2-story main intake and administrative area and five 2-story cell blocks varying in size from 20-bed to 40-bed blocks. The cell blocks are precast concrete walls with concrete on metal deck floors and roofs.
Dimond State Courthouse, Juneau, Alaska
This 9-story, 127’ tall building includes a courthouse, prison detention facilities, and office space.
Two Rivers Correctional Institute, Umatilla, Oregon
This $120 million facility includes a medium-security jail to house 1,600 inmates and a 300-bed minimum-security support facility. This is a full service, stand-alone jail that includes space for general population housing, inmate work programs, administration offices, visiting, laundry, and kitchen/dining.
